Para mí es importante que los niños entiendan el verdadero significado de la Navidad y que no se queden solamente con la idea superficial de que son unas fiestas en las que se reúne la familia, se come mucho y se hacen regalos.

Así que este año he decidido hacer un calendario de adviento con el que Alejandro pueda aprender algo más sobre la historia del nacimiento de Jesús, y en The Craft Patch he encontrado una idea que me ha encantado, así que la comparto con vosotros por si alguien más se anima a hacer algo similar.

Se trata de un calendario hecho con fieltro, aunque una versión de cartulina también podría quedar bien y sería más fácil de hacer con la participación de los peques. Lo bueno de la versión de fieltro es que es más duradera y podemos guardarla para otros años. En función del tiempo que tenga decidiré cómo hacerlo 😉

El calendario tiene marcados los 24 días de adviento formando el camino que recorren María y José desde Nazaret hasta Belén. Las figuras de María, José y el burro van unidas y tienen un velcro detrás para irlas desplazando cada día por el camino. Al final del camino está el portal de Belén, con el pesebre vacío en el que colocaremos al niño Jesús el día 24 de Diciembre por la noche.

For me it is important that children understand the true meaning of Christmas and not be left only with the superficial idea that it is a holiday when families gather, eat a lot and gifts are given.

So this year I decided to make an advent calendar which helps Alejandro to learn more about the birth of Jesus, and at The Craft Patch I found an idea that I love, so I thought I'd share it  in case some of you want to do something similar.

It's a calendar made with felt, although a version of cardboard would also work and would be easier to make with younger kids. The good thing about the felt version is that it's more durable and can be kept it for the following years. Depending on the time I have I will decide how to do it 😉

The calendar has marked the 24 days of Advent forming the path from Nazareth to Bethlehem. The figures of Mary, Joseph and the donkey go together and have a velcro at the back so it can be moved every day along the way. At the end of the path is the stable in Bethlehem, with an empty manger where baby Jesus will be placed on December 24th at night.
